Privacy policy

Shortsmith works without accounts. Videos and thumbnails are rendered on your device. Project media is not uploaded for rendering; only optional AI and voiceover requests send the text you submit to their providers.

Nothing you type into the tools is stored by us for browser renders. We do not require or collect names, emails, or accounts.

Basic technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) may be processed by Vercel to operate and secure the service.

Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics measure aggregate page usage and product events such as starting or completing a render. They do not receive your form content or uploaded project files from Shortsmith.

Optional AI and voiceover: when you request AI autofill, your topic is sent to OpenRouter to generate the draft. When you generate voiceover, the narration text is sent from the web app to Microsoft Edge text-to-speech and the returned audio is held in your browser.

Shortsmith is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. Depending on your region, you may see a consent prompt before personalized ads are shown.

Shortsmith uses local storage for your theme, projects and brand kit. Google Analytics and advertising products may set cookies subject to your consent choices. Vercel also provides privacy-oriented web analytics.

Rendering technology is provided by Remotion, MediaBunny and FFmpeg WebAssembly. MediaBunny and FFmpeg run locally in your tab and do not receive your media. When you use the Remotion in-browser renderer, Remotion may receive the licensing telemetry required by its license; it contains no form or video content. Fonts used inside videos are loaded from Google Fonts. Optional AI requests use OpenRouter, optional voiceover uses Microsoft Edge text-to-speech, and ads are served through Google advertising products.

Shortsmith is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
