Terms of use

Shortsmith provides free video templates that render either in your browser or, optionally, on our server. The service is provided “as is”, without warranties, and may change or pause at any time.

You keep all rights to the content you put into the tools and to the videos you export, including for commercial and monetized use. Exports include a brief Shortsmith end badge.

You are responsible for having the rights to any text, images or audio you use — including music you upload to the audiogram tool — and for how you use the resulting videos.

Don’t use Shortsmith to create content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that impersonates real private individuals in a deceptive way; don’t attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse the render infrastructure; and don’t use automated scripts to farm HQ server renders. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shortsmith and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid to use it — which is zero.
